About our repertoire
Our repertoire is made up by six productions: The Canteen (2008), Répéter (2009), João Botão (2010), Ivanov (2011), Leonce and Lena (2012) and Say that you agree! MÁQUINAFATZER, that had its premiere in 2014, sponsored by FUNARTE (Myriam Muniz award, Ministry of Culture). The production was part of the Theatrical Research Laboratory of Porto Iracema of Arts (Government of the State of Ceará) and received the collaboration of the argentinian director Guillermo Cacace and of the german artist Michael Wehren, from the Friendly Fire group, from Leipzig.
Still in 2014 we toured with Ivanov through the cities of Vitória (State of Espírito Santo) and Belo Horizonte (State of Minas Gerais) with the support of the Petrobrás BR Distributor touring grant we held a season in a space called Caixa Cultural in Fortaleza. In 2013 we presented Ivanov at FIT Rio Preto - International Theater Festival of São José do Rio Preto (São Paulo); we held a showcase with three of the productions in our repertoire at FILTE Bahia - Latin American Festival of Theater and we presented Leonce and Lena at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. In 2012 we presented another show, The Canteen at the MIRADA - Ibero American Festival of Performing Arts - Santos (São Paulo). In the same year, we presented Ivanov at the International Cena Brasil (Rio de Janeiro), where we also held a workshop as resident group. Between 2008 and 2010, The Canteen was also presented at FIAC Bahia, FIT Rio Preto, Porto Alegre em Cena and Caxias em Cena - all of them international festivals. In 2009, due to the direct manipulation technique developed for The Canteen, Teatro Máquina was nominated to the Shell Theater Award of São Paulo.
We are currently developing a new process of research and creation with the project "The Seven Stars of the Big Dipper" that has been recently approved by the Rumos Itaú Cultural program, we plan on finalizing its process in mid 2016.
