Répéter[DOWNTOWN]//2010
The text is that space where a language cannot dominate another, where languages surround.
Roland Barthes In the center of a big city, there's a heavy flow, an intense crosspoint of multiple dimensions, the scenario is alive and at the same time paralyzed by its edifications, its architectural form. Non-fiction is aways present, real time is a fact. A city is like a larger body made up by thousands of other smaller bodies in energetic activity, where these bodies are intersected infinitely. Traffic, transiting, pedestrians. The city, built in a solid, static form, in a fluid and inconstant form and yet in a fluid and constant one. All these features and this game of unpredictable relations from pre-determined actions, from a pre-determined body, are present in Répéter[Downtown]. Encountering, mismatching, crashing, deviating, etc. In the big central square, are the pedestrian's actions pre-established or not? The citizen's body is certainly prepared to cross the large square. Who has prepare his or her own body for the crossing? Does the space recreates the body, or does the body recreates the space? There's no fiction in this real time and space, but could't we look at the citizen's body as a represented body?
